Star Quilts have been part of Native Culture for a long time. The 8 point star is particularly important to the Plain’s Tribes. They star represents the 4 sacred directions, and the rise and fall of the sun. These quilts were made by my Aunt, Ella Vernelle Kemp, who has almost 60 years experience in making quilts.
